The unique properties of the CoreMaster International Inc. Cores prompt
several frequently asked questions, which we will attempt to answer
below. If you have other questions, please contact us at the addresses
listed under "Contact".
-
- Why would I prefer to use CMI's Advanced Soft Magnetic
Nanocrystalline Cores over all other available choices?
- Is there Applications data available to me which demonstrates
the claims of superior performance?
- How price competitive are CMI's new high performance
Cores?
- Is the material readily available?
- Are the Cores available in other form factors than
Torroids?
What
are some of the most unique properties of the Cores?
High Saturation Flux Density - to 2 tesla
High Available Flux Density with DC bias - to 1 tesla
Low losses - <40mw/g, 0.1 T, 200khz
High stable operating temperature - to 120°C
Wide operating frequency range - through 1MHZ
Why
would I prefer to use CMI's Advanced Soft Magnetic Nanocrystalline Cores
over all other available choices?
Dramatic improvements in much lower losses, increased saturation
flux density and stable operating temperatures. See # 1 above.
Is
there Applications data available which demonstrates the claims of superior
performance?
Yes. There are 15 Application Notes on this Web Site which cover
virtually all of the magnetic functions of power conversion, with
full data included.
How price
competitive are CMI's new high performance Cores?
These Cores are priced extremely competitive when compared with the
other high performance materials such as amorphous, MPP, and Kool Mu,
and because of their reduced size and increased power density they
are often very competitive to even low priced ferrite cores.
Are
the Cores readily available?
Yes. Samples can be sent typically same day as requested. Smaller
quantity orders are available from current inventories, and larger
quantity orders are typically available on only a few weeks notice.
Are
the Cores available in other form factors than Torroids?
At this time the Cores are only available in Torroid configurations.
In the future we expect to develop other form factors as well.
